Chicken Feathers
Ella Mae the Courageous Cheerleader
Stephanie Cameron is a Texas author who has been inspired to write children’s books about true stories with a gentle moral lesson. Her books are designed to invoke thought about behavior choices, inspiration to do the right thing even when it is hard, and the rewards of life in showing everyday kindness.
She has two books in her portfolio, Ella Mae the Courageous Cheerleader (2017) and her latest, Chicken Feathers (2020). Chicken Feathers won the 2021 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards gold medal in early first chapter books category. It also placed 2 nd in the 2021 North Texas Book Festival competition for children ages 6-12 category. In 2022, Kirkus Reviews gave Chicken Feathers a positive review and recommended it for purchase. They went on to feature it in the Indie section of the May 2022 publication (page 138).
Stephanie is an accomplished marketing professional and holds an MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio as well as a BA in Child and Family Development from the University of Akron. Even with juggling writing and working a full-time professional career, her family is her most important commitment. She has been married to her husband Tom for more than 20 years and has two beautiful daughters, Alyssa and Sierra. Much of her writing inspiration comes from raising her girls and managing life’s challenges through faith and grit.
Her biggest thrill as an author is meeting and engaging with readers on a personal level. To connect emotionally with a reader is her highest honor and privilege. There is no finer gift she could ever receive than learning how her writing has encouraged, inspired, or entertained a heart.
